About Us

L’Albero della Vita ETS (FADV) is an NGO promoting human rights across the world, operating in child protection, education, migration, development, emergency, providing support to vulnerable children and communities.

We are looking for a motivated International HR Manager based in Milan, to join our team.

 

Location: Head Office (Milano, Via Vittor Pisani 13)

Employment Type: Full-time, hybrid work both office and remotely (CCNL Commercio).

Reports: General Director

The role requires frequent business trips to Africa, South America, India and Ukraine.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Strategy: develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s international and Programmes strategy.
  • Recruitment: oversee the recruitment process for international staff.
  • Talent Management: develop and execute talent management strategies, including staff development, training programs, and career progression for international employees.
  • Compliance: with the assistance of local consultant, ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local labor laws in the countries where the organization operates.
  • Coordination: collaborate with local HR teams in each country to harmonize HR practices and policies.
  • Safety & wellbeing: ensure staff safety and well-being, particularly in high-risk areas, by overseeing policies related to health, security, and psychosocial support.
  • Staff cost control and monitor the cost of personnel, that means to oversee and regulate expenses related to employee wages, benefits, and other associated costs.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in international or non-profit settings.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, International Relations, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of international labor laws and HR compliance.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish) is a plus.
    • Experience in working in fragile and conflict-affected areas is highly desirable.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High level of cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
