Position
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Program Officer to lead advocacy and programmatic efforts on agroecology, and sovereignty. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing program strategies, conducting research, and producing reports on issues related to agroecology, food systems, and sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement NI’s Agroecology Programme strategy and plan in close connection with other programmatic streams of the organization.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the programme’s budget and support resource mobilization efforts.
- Develop and execute impactful campaigns on agroecology and food system transformation.
- Conduct research and write reports, policy briefs, and other advocacy materials.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including policymakers, civil society organizations, and grassroots movements.
- Organize events, workshops, and discussions to advance agroecology principles.
- Monitor policy developments at national, European, and international levels related to agroecology.
- Contribute to media outreach and communication strategies.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of agroecology, and food sovereignty issues.
- At least 2 years experience in program coordination, advocacy, or policy work.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and briefing materials.
- Strong communication and networking skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Fluency in Italian is highly desirable.
- Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or grassroots movements.
- Knowledge of European and global food policy frameworks.
Work Modality:
The position is based in Rome, Italy, with the possibility of a hybrid or remote work arrangement for exceptional candidates.
